I never told Rev. Omolehin CAC sold Apostle Babalola’s deathbed – Prophet Funso Akande refutes claim

By Our Correspondent

In a strongly worded rebuttal, Soji Adegbile, Personal Assistant to Prophet Funso Akande, has categorically dismissed recent claims by Rev. Isaac Omolehin alleging that the death bed of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola was sold by the fathers of the Christ Apostolic Church — a statement he falsely attributed to Prophet Funso Akande.

In a video currently making rounds on social media, Rev. Omolehin claimed that he was informed at the Ede Mountain that the fathers of Christ Apostolic Church sold the deathbed of the first General Evangelist, Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, to some Hausa men.

Adegbile described the assertions in Omolehin’s message as “a mere mismatch of information and a misrepresentation of sacred opinion,” bluntly tagging it a “Pulpit Error.”

According to him, Prophet Funso Akande, the biological son of the revered Prophet Babajide Abiye, has written several books chronicling the life and legacy of his father — accounts that have consistently aligned with CAC’s historical records.

“It is inconceivable that Prophet Akande would have told Rev. Omolehin that Apostle Ayo Babalola died on Ori Oke Baba Abiye, or that Baba Apostle had no spiritual covering,” Adegbile asserted. “Eyewitnesses from the day Apostle Babalola died in 1959 confirm he arrived in his personal Range Rover Jeep at Baba Abiye’s house. How can one say such men of God had no spiritual covering or were left exposed?”

He further cautioned that such false narratives about spiritual legends do more harm than good. “It is better to remain silent on matters you do not fully understand than to mislead others with inaccuracies,” he warned.

Adegbile concluded by urging listeners to disregard the misleading message and instead seek the truth directly from Prophet Akande’s verified teachings. “To those who heard that message: all you received was a lie. Please listen to Baba Funso Akande’s response. Buy the truth and sell it not.
